Zhangjiajie National Forest Park



Zhangjiajie national park is located on the northwestern border of Hunan Province China. It is one of several national parks within the Wulingyuan Scenic Area. This scenic area is made up of three adjoining subtropical parklands, with quartzite sandstone peaks and rival Guilin's scenery. There are plentiful rare plants and insects, swarms of butterflies, a large cave with calcite deposits, and stunning views through bamboo, pine, and oak forest.

Heaven's Gate Mountain (Tianmen Mountain) is located within Tianmen Mountain National Park. The mountain measures up to 131 meters in height and runs 60 meters deep. Because of its high altitude, it is more like an open gate to heaven. The Heaven Gate Mountain is seven kilometers from the city. Heaven-liking Avenue, also known as the Big Gate Road as been called the ''most dangerous'' roads in China. 

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park become internationally renown since the release of the 2009 movie Avatar. The movie was filmed in these mountains, more specially, the Hallelijah Mountain (of Avatar) was filmed there and the movie's editing team simply added the mountain in post-production to make them look like they are floating in the air.
